Kim Dixon is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience in the education sector; including serving in teaching and counseling roles, planning and implementing integrated life skills programs, developing individual educational plans, as well as offering guidance and support to a range of students of differing educational abilities.
Kim’s training includes psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral and systemic family therapies, as well as providing parents with skills training and supportive therapy. In the past, she has worked as a Senior Psychologist in the Child and Family Unit at Lentegeur Psychiatric Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa – a mental health service
for children and adolescents. Currently, she also consults as a psychologist in two international American schools in Kuwait.
Kim received her Bachelor’s degree (with a post-graduate higher diploma) in education, and a Master’s degree specializing in clinical psychology from the University of The Western Cape in South Africa. She is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), the South African Council of Educators (SACE) and is an active member of the Psychological Society of South Africa (PsySSA).
